After 18 years at major record companies, with two sojourns at the world’s #1 label group, Universal, and six years at arguably the UK’s most historically important music company, EMI, Giancarlo set up on his own in 2016.

Having held the roles of VP Global Marketing & Repertoire (Universal Strategic Marketing) and VP International Catalogue (EMI Records UK), Giancarlo has spent the last eight years as one of the foremost independent UK consultants in the field of Catalogue Marketing.

With best-in-class depth and breadth of experience, and a honed skill set developed over 25 years in the music business, Giancarlo’s professional focus is on recorded music catalogue exploitation and international strategic marketing, and all that entails:

  • Working hand in hand with artist / management, and liaising between them and the label to ensure optimal outcome whether that be for ongoing planning and execution or individual releases.

  • Project management of international artist releases, from concept through release and marketing.

  • Administering Kiosk and Partworks license deals for key artist catalogues.

  • Top-to-bottom reviews of entire discographies and identifying the full spectrum of opportunities within across multiple price points and formats.

  • Evaluating the commercial potential of new release projects on a global basis, combined with product conception, development and management.

  • Overseeing international project launches, liaising with teams on the ground in key markets, and ensuring label and artist management teams are kept fully apprised of project status.

Over his career, Giancarlo has managed the projects of many of the world’s biggest artists including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Prince, David Bowie, Yusuf / Cat Stevens, ABBA, Iron Maiden, Genesis, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, Deep Purple, and many more.

Giancarlo says:

“Founding my own company has been hugely rewarding for me. Now that I am able to super-focus on a handful of projects, I can approach them with a level of passion and commitment that I found difficult to achieve back in a major label environment.

“By offering a bespoke service for each project and each client, I can help take artists and their products to market in a way that’s truly special, and unique for the artist and their fans, which of course is great business for everyone.”
